A 14-item assessment of relationship adjustment across three core dimensions: how much you agree on important matters, how satisfied you are with the relationship, and how close you feel as a couple. Based on the revised model by Busby and colleagues, which distills Spanier's classic measure into a shorter, more psychometrically robust form.
Fourteen items measuring three core dimensions of couple adjustment — consensus, satisfaction, and cohesion.
- See where your relationship is strong and where it may need attention, with a structured profile you can reflect on alone or discuss together.

Why trust this instrument.
NOESIS adaptation based on the Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale construct (Busby, Christensen, Crane & Larson, 1995). Fourteen independently developed items on a 5-point agreement scale across three subscales: consensus (6), satisfaction (4), and cohesion (4). All positively keyed. The original RDAS reports alpha .80-.90 across 3 subscales. Scored as mean per subscale (range 1-5).

The theory behind this test.
Dyadic Adjustment
Quality and adjustment of couple relationships measured through consensus (agreement on important matters), satisfaction (relationship happiness), and cohesion (shared activities and communication). Revised from Spanier's original model to be more parsimonious and structurally valid.

Frequently asked questions
Should both partners take this test?
Each person answers about their own perception. Comparing two profiles side by side can surface differences neither partner had put into words, but one profile on its own is already useful for self-reflection.
Is this a compatibility test?
No. It measures how well the relationship is adjusted right now, not whether two people are inherently compatible. A low score is a signal, not a verdict — it means something specific is worth looking at.
