Can You Name the Feeling?
~10 min · 20 問 · 無料の簡易レポート
Most people run their whole emotional life on about six words. Angry, sad, happy, stressed, tired, fine. It works until it does not, because the six are too wide to act on: knowing you are angry does not tell you whether you were wronged, embarrassed or simply hungry, and those three go in different directions. This quiz gives you a situation and four candidate words. One of them is closer than the others, and the other three are usually the words people reach for instead. Guilt and shame. Envy and jealousy. Regret and remorse. Compassion and pity. The pairs are not decoration: each one marks a real difference in what happened and what to do about it. Your result is a plain count out of 20, and the band it falls into. There is no conversion to a hundred-point scale, because there is nothing to convert against. The free result gives you the count. The full report walks through every situation, including the ones you got right, and says what separates the word that fitted from the three that did not.

ターゲット
Anyone who has felt something specific and reached for a word that was not quite it
レポートが答える質問。
Why does the exact word change what happens next?
Because the narrow word carries the response inside it. Guilt points at repair and shame points at hiding, so the same event named two ways produces an apology or a disappearance. That is not a matter of vocabulary for its own sake: it is the difference between the two things you might actually do on Monday.
最も効果的な方。
Somebody who says fine a lot
Fine is doing an enormous amount of work in your week, and the report is a list of the words it is standing in for. Not a criticism: fine is efficient, and it stops being efficient in the conversation where you needed to be specific.
The person who reads widely
You will land high and disagree with two or three items, which is the intended outcome. The interesting part is not the count but the ones where your sense of the word is wider or narrower than the key, and the report says which.
Somebody who apologises without knowing what for
Look at the guilt and shame items. The two point at completely different things, one at an act that can be repaired and one at a self that cannot, and mixing them up is why some apologies never land.
よくある質問
Does a low score mean I am bad at feelings?
No, and the quiz cannot tell you anything about that. It measures how precisely you use a set of words. People who name feelings vaguely and handle them well are common, and so is the reverse.
I disagree with one of the answers. Who decides?
You may well be right. The key follows the distinction each word ordinarily carries in careful use, and where usage is genuinely split we left the item out rather than pick a side. Two or three disagreements across 20 items is the expected result for someone who reads a lot, not a defect.
Do the word pairs survive translation?
Not all of them, which is why the quiz is shorter than it could be. Every item was checked in all six languages and the ones that collapsed in even one were dropped. Guilt and shame, envy and jealousy, and remorse and regret hold their distinction in all six, which is why they are here.
Is this an emotional intelligence test?
No. It is a vocabulary quiz with an answer key. Naming a feeling precisely and doing something sensible with it are different capacities, and this one only touches the first.
Why does the distinction matter outside a quiz?
Because the wide words hide what to do. Angry covers being wronged, being embarrassed and being blocked, and those three want an apology, a change of subject and a different approach respectively. The narrower word carries the next step inside it.
What is in the full report that the free result does not show?
Every situation, including the ones you got right, with what separates the word that fitted from the three that nearly did, plus which kind of distinction you handled well and which one caught you.
