Response Inhibition

Also known as: Go/No-Go · Motor inhibition · Impulse control (cognitive)

The ability to suppress a prepotent motor response when the situation demands it. The Go/No-Go task measures this directly: respond quickly to frequent go stimuli, withhold on rare no-go stimuli. Commission errors (responding when you should not) index inhibitory failure.
