Transactional Model of Coping

Model defining coping as cognitive and behavioral efforts to manage demands appraised as taxing or exceeding personal resources. Distinguishes problem-focused (changing the situation) and emotion-focused (managing emotional response) strategies, with no strategy being universally adaptive.
